NICK PACHELLI

Nick is a journalist and producer and the author of The Tennis Court.

His past work has appeared in Esquire, The New York Times, The New Yorker, Slate, The Guardian, Outside Magazine, Vox, LA Times, San Francisco Magazine, GOOD Magazine, California Sunday Magazine, and others. He spent years writing sports and culture features. Some of his favorite stories he’s reported over the years center around tennis, like this or this. He worked on some other sports, too, like bobsled. He also led several investigations across subjects, with some pieces like this , this, and this winning regional and national journalism awards.

Nick’s received grants and awards from The Knight Foundation, Investigative Reporters and Editors, the Newmark School, Columbia Journalism, Wallace House, and others. He is also a founding team member of a production company with several dozen projects in development with Netflix, among other studios.

He plays and watches a lot of tennis, maybe too much. He’s a 5.0/UTR 9, on good days. He grew up on hot, cracked hard courts in the Southwest, where we was among the top tanked juniors in singles and doubles. He also shreds on a slalom ski in his spare time.
